RIP

I always get frustrated about getting so sad when a celebrity I love dies, since people think you're stupid to care about someone you never met. But I must say, I am pretty upset about Michael Jackson. He was such a big part of my childhood, all my siblings and I were obsessed. I didn't really think my childhood idol would die until we were both much older. It's a really sad shocking thing. But you know, I just want to say, there was really no one cooler. I hope now people will remember him in a good light.

Yeah ppl always seem to think it's stupid when you care about someone you never met. I think MJ was genuinely talented, not just a superstar like those dime a dozen you can find today...he was a rare one. I will miss him.

I am so sad. Im glad I'm not the only one. My friends are making fun of me, but the first casette I ever bought was Dnagerous and it's hard to explain about someone who was such a big part of your childhood.

There is a reason celebrities, sports figures, politicians, and others are called "public figures". And no, it's not strange to feel an attachment to one of these people even if you've never met them. One of the most touching examples of this that I have seen is this photo from 1945 taken following the death of President Franklin Roosevelt.
